It was an easy decision on who the inaugural SoulMaker™ would be, who it had to be … and it's none other than Rob "The Honeydripper" Paparozzi out of New Jersey. Rob; a gentleman, a scholar, a musician and a guide, was so instrumental (no pun intended) in getting our harmonica odyssey off on the right trajectory and keeping it on the rails when it could have flown off at any point. We had no idea what we were getting into when we hooked up with Rob and the Original Blues Brothers Band in Salerno, Italy. We shot their show, jumped on the bus with them, ended up in the town of Benevento for a couple of days, eventually traveled South to Naples and kept going all they way out to the island of Capri until we realized, we had to get to Germany to meet with the folks at Hohner. Once we were back stateside, we reconnected with Rob in the Studio in NYC, Marc spent a weekend with the Paparozzis in New Jersey and then there were the conventions. And through all of it, everywhere we went and with everyone we met, he made sure we were treated with at least as much respect as a harmonica players gets. He's been a true champion of the project from the beginning, making connections for us, making sure we were asking the right questions, and just making sure we were always understanding our subject. Rob Popparozzi, is the embodiment of what it means to be a SoulMaker™, a true ambassador of the Harmonica.
